Just Beyond The Veil

Okay, I'm posting the lyrics to this song because they are awesome, and I was looking for them (and a chord chart) online recently and could not find even a hint of the entire song, which was haunting me because I felt compelled by the Spirit to use it in worship one or two weeks. So I just had to use what I had, which was the chorus. Anyhow, I'm posting this because I know it will show up if anyone searches for the lyrics. Which could happen. So, here goes. It's a song by the (late?) band, Merchant Band, associated with International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. Unless they're not associated with IHOP now. I don't really know. Still, the song is anointed. So here it is:

Just  Beyond The Veil

Verse:
Just beyond this veil is where You are and
Where I want to be, Oh Lord.
Just beyond this cloud is where You are and
Where I want to be, Oh Lord.

Bridge:
Take me away…   Take me away with You…
Take me away ….  Take me away with You.

Chorus:
Surely there’s a cloud in the distance   Surely there’s a heavy rain coming
I can feel You coming to me
Surely there’s a cloud in the distance   Surely there’s a heavy rain coming
I can feel You moving toward me.

Tag:
And though this veil is clouding me, and through this cloud I cannot see
Through this void I cannot hear, I know You are there
Through the dark night of my soul and through the testing I must go, but
Lord, You will arise over me. Lord, You will arise over me.
Lord, You will arise... (chorus)

I include the scripture references 1 Kings 18: 41-46 and Hosea 6: 2-3 because they feel pertinent to this song. That's all, folks!

How Great Thou Art

So, this morning at church (I wore an Easter dress for the first time in, like, 15 years! It was an Event!), we had a great worship service time, and at the end, we sang a hymn for a change: How Great Thou Art.

In Which I Belatedly Form some New Year's Not-Resolutions,

So, I haven't blogged in a while, mostly due to lots of stuff happening in the family that I had to process, and didn't want to blog about- a family member died, which caused a sudden trip to South Texas to go through some family stuff, and a whirlwind trip to Corpus Christi, to check on the house, then back home. Got to see my grandmother Sawyer and my (great) aunt Dotty, as well as some extended Eppler family, so, awesome.

Also, I got a new (to me) car! Which I completely adore. I adore the AC. I adore the cupholders. I adore the internal compass. I adore the CD player. I adore the fact that when I find it in a parking lot I am always pleasantly shocked that this is my car. I adore my dad for financing it for me. It is awesome.

In Which I Attend An Evening Concert With Sufjan Stevens

Sadly, in spite of what the title insinuates, I did not actually attend a concert in the company of Sufjan Stevens; however, I did attend a concert last night featuring his music. As well as his self.

Yes, the songs looked nice on him. (What? Am I the first person in the history of time who has heard "The Dress Looks Nice on You" who's thought of that?)

Okay, if you don't know who Sufjan Stevens is, he's this musician who writes and plays and records music that hipsters and myself enjoy. Usually if you see a photo of him, he is tenderly holding a banjo, like this:

In Which I Cherish a Fondness for Central Market Stores...

In days of yore, when I lived in a more southern portion of Texas, I frequented an amazing grocery store called HEB, which cannot be found any further north than Stephenville, which is a two hour drive from myself. However, I have discovered an even better place to be amazed at, which is actually a branch of HEB, called Central Market.

In Which I Describe The Dream Which You Are Not Obligated To Read Unless You Wish...

So here's the dream from the previous post:  I was working in my garden (which I don't have in real life, of course) when I received a delivery by courier.
